Historic Milan first-run multiscreen cinema in the Città Studi district. Opened in 1936 as a cinema-variety house with 2,000 seats (Totò reportedly gave his first Northern-Italy stage performance here); in 1967 the stage was removed and it became a cinema only, and in the mid-1990s (renovation completed 1997) it was reorganised into a 6-screen multiplex with a large conical foyer under a dome. It closed for renovation on 28 March 2024; part of the building was converted into an Aldi supermarket (opened 25 July 2024), and the cinema reopened in 2024 with 3 fully refurbished screens (the largest of the former six), new seating and improved projection. The current programme includes 3D screenings.
