Three-screen cinema of the Museo Nazionale del Cinema, a few steps from the Mole Antonelliana. Opened in 1934 as a single 1,000-seat hall designed by architect Ottorino Aloisio, it was badly damaged in the bombing of 8 December 1942 and rebuilt by Aloisio after the war. It closed in the early 1980s, was acquired by the City of Turin and has been run by the Museum since 1989; a full 2001 renovation by architect Daniele Portaleone created the current three rooms. Sala Uno and Sala Due show first-run art-house films (original language with Italian subtitles), Sala Tre is dedicated to retrospectives, restored classics and events. Per the cinema, all three rooms have 4K digital projectors, 16mm and 35mm projectors and Dolby Digital 7.1 sound. Rooms are reachable by lift with staff assistance; the cinema is in the Cinemamico circuit (MovieReading subtitles). Hosts Torino Film Festival, CinemAmbiente and Lovers Film Festival.
